Daily maintenance is of key importance for laser equipment to work normally and stably and to work better. Good daily maintenance can not only lengthen the service life of machine and decrease failure rate, but also to improve the quality of products to realize the aim of stable and high-performance production. The following is a brief introduction of daily maintenance and replacement of the mechanical transmission parts of laser equipment for better use:
Lead rail, straight line axis, slipper groupware (metal lead roller), nylon lead roller
Lead rail and straight line axis are essential parts of the equipment and their functions are guiding and support. To guarantee high precision of processing, the lead rail and straight line have high guiding precision and good stability. When running, a mass of caustic dust and smoke generated in processing will accumulate on the surface of lead rail and straight line. Long period of accumulation will influence the processing precision seriously, form pitting on the surface of the lead rail axis and shorten its service life.
On the basis of transmission methods, the laser equipments of our company include two kinds: YM and CM series. In YM series laser engravers / cutter, the combination motion of straight line lead rail and slipper in the X direction and the combination motion of nylon lead roller and left and right oriented lead rail is adopted in Y direction. In CM series laser engraver / cutter, the combination r motion of slipper base groupware (metal lead rail roller) and straight line axis is adopted.
Cleaning and maintenance of the straight line axis of CM series engraver / cutter
The straight line axis on beam: turn off the power supply of the machine and move the laser head to the most right (or left) end to wipe it with cotton in the direction same with the straight line axis forward and backward until the axis become clean and bright. Then move the laser head to the most left (right) end to wipe it with cotton in the direction same with the straight line axis forward and backward until the axis become clean and bright. At last, lay on some lubricant on the surface of the lead rail (sewing machine oil can be adopted and engine oil should never be used) and push the laser head to the left/right for several times to ensure the lubricant is distributed uniformly.
Clean and maintain the straight line axis on the beams of the left and right lead rail in the same way.
Cleaning and replacement of slipping base groupware of CM series of engraver/cutter
Slipping base groupware (metal lead roller) should be cleaned and maintained in the way that the straight line axis is cleaned and maintained.
The precaution to replace the slipping groupware (metal lead roller) that is liable to abrasion is: adjust the gap between the straight line axes and slipping base groupware (metal lead roller) to make the slipping base groupware move on the straight line axis freely without resistance. The adjustment method is adjust the eccentric wheel of the slipping base groupware (metal lead roller) to just contact the surface of the wheel with the straight line axis, then tighten the screws of the slipping base groupware and the fixing screws of the eccentric wheel.
Cleaning and maintenance of straight line lead rails and slippers of YM series of engravers / cutters
The method to clean and maintain the CM series of engraver / cutter can be also used to clean and maintain the straight line lead rails and slippers on the beams of YM series of engravers / cutters.
Cleaning and maintenance of the nylon roller lead rails of YM series of engravers / cutters
Move the beam to the inner side (the side of laser cover) and open the lids at both sides of the machine. Clean the contact position between the left/right lead rail of the both sides of Y and the roller with dry and clean cotton, and then move the beam to clean the rest place. Since the roller is made of nylon, no lubricant can be laid on its surface.
Synchronizing belt and wheel
Synchronizing belt and wheel are important mechanical transmission parts of the machine and control the move track of the laser head. After a while of use, the synchronizing belt is liable to being lengthened and becoming loose, which will influence the motion precision and sensitivity of laser head. Thus, timely adjustment to the synchronizing belt is necessary.
Method: the tightness of the synchronizing belt should be properly adjusted along with X direction and Y direction. The tightness of the synchronizing belt of driver motor should be adjusted to such a degree that when press the middle part of the belt, the sinkage should be 3%-5% of the distance between both ends of the belt to its center.
Note: ① if the transmission belt is adjusted too tight, it will not also cause distortion, but also accelerate the abrasion of axis; If it’s too loose, the transmission precision and sensitivity will decrease. So, the tension of the synchronizing belt should be adjusted to the best condition. The tension of synchronizing belt should be proper when adjust the Y direction synchronizing belt and make sure the tension degree of both sides should be the same to make it stable in the process of transmission and avoid influencing the effect of engraving and cutting.
② the synchronizing belt should be kept away from oil or chemicals and contact with acid, alkali, oil and organic solvents is forbidden. The synchronizing belt should be kept dry and clean.
③And there is possibility of aging of rubber synchronizing belt. If the rubber synchronizing belt is aging (or frayed) seriously, it should be timely replaced and attention should be paid to that the synchronizing belt and the synchronizing wheel should be matched.
After a period of use, the synchronizing belt will be loose and frayed and it needs replacement and tightened timely. Attention should be paid to that the synchronizing belt and the synchronizing wheel should be matched.
Tightening of screws and couplings
After the motion system work for a while, the screws and couplings at the connection place will loosen. This will influence the stability of the machine. Thus it is necessary to observe whether there is any abnormal noise or abnormality with the transmission parts and any problems found should be resolved to tighten and maintain the machine. At the same time, the screws should be tightened one by one periodically. The first time tightening should be executed after about one month use.
